Scientists have issued a “code red for humanity” to tackle the climate emergency, but governments continue to let corporations call the shots. The Climate Emergency Unit and Council of Canadians are organizing to break the grip of corporate influence over our climate policy, and to pressure MPs to support just transition and climate emergency legislation in the first 100 days of Parliament.

In this workshop you will learn about the strategy and tactics our organizations are using to build power, centring now on a parliamentary petition calling for just transition legislation. You will learn how to use a parliamentary petition to organize in your community, and get support for meeting with local MPs about just transition and climate emergency legislation.
